Everything seemed pretty normal. We went to work, got together with friends in the evenings, shared meals together.

It snowed yesterday on the hill where I live. Big fluffy flakes fell and left an inch or so of white beauty on the ground, the trees, the cars. It was quiet and serene.

People were walking around each other, avoiding any contact. For some reason, yesterday was the day it hit me. When I got home, the house was empty.

I can’t see the girl at all except for video chat. She was on screen, far away in another town.

Always 6 feet. The length of a man. 6 feet.

When this is over, me and her might run off to Mexico and disappear forever.

It’s snowing again.
